"The Answer for Textbook Publishers" by David Warlick, 2¢ Worth was a fasinating article. After reading this article it really made me think about my generation and how we have our lives based around the technology we use each day. This blog shows how students are involved in technology and what the textbooks publishers need to do if they want their buyer the students to have things to do with their informational books, they should expand to where it isn’t just in a book but it's on the computer, in a phone, on an iPod, etc.
I have some agreements and some disagreements with this blog. Mr. Warlick states that teacher and parents need to give involve with the students lives and he has good points to back that up but about why the textbook publishers should switch is not such a good idea in my perspective.
How do we know if this switch isn't just going to make students more uninvolved and unsocial. This switch could make the students/next generation more unlikely to succeed. I think this might be true because what about when you go into a business meeting or some type of social gathering, will the students be so accustomed to staying with in their technology that they will be in shock or afraid to stand out or give a speech. There could be effects on this situation and I think they should be stated. In conclusion, this is a very well put together blog and I also enjoyed reading this and I am glad I had chose it.
