The Book to Believe...

"The Bible-the book that can be believed." by Brett Fish Anderson. Tells and talks to his readers about how the Bible is one of the most chopped, knifed, and verified books out in the world today. Also the article talks about how and why the Bible is the number one selling book, and how we the people can believe it is true.

Why do I believe in the Bible? Well one reason I believe in Jesus and the Bible is because I have seen it do miracles and all that other stuff that others believe in like evolution and stuff, is straight up dumb. Who in they're right mind would think that we people evolved from a little blob over trillions of years, my beliefs have more a chance of being real than that. Well another reason this article stood out to me was the author to this article talks at the end about why this book- the Bible should be taken seriously and be given a chance, is that the transformation it has done to people and how those transformation continue to take place to this day. I see this article as a chance to have more of a hope for my beliefs and that not the only one who believes in the Bible power but that there is living proof that the Bible can change lives.

Educational Leadership...

"Expecting Excellence" from the Publications "Educational Leadership" by Tony Wagner. This issue was indeed a very informational for us students and those who are looking for careers. The author point of view on this is to stop what we have been doing and expand into new ways that will help make this generation a successful one. I definitively would say that I agree with him. In this issue, Mr. Wagner interviewers point out major key points that students need and what they are looking for in a worker.

This really helped me to open my eyes on what I need to succeed in today's world. I just wish that the teachers would apply this method more so we the students could get more adjusted to what is needed. My education and somewhat life is on the line right now because what if I get out in the world and every employer that I go to wants things that I was not taught? Am I to blame? Seeing this very much impacted on how I am going to learn and what I need to look for. The author showed and stated that 1 out of 20 classroom he visited, were meeting the criteria that he was informed with. The way the school is teaching is not very effective. In conclusion, this very much as always changed my way of thinking.

Sex-Texting?

Laura Arowolo's article "No sexts please, we're Christian teenagers" reveals that sexting is not right in the eyes of God. Coming from a teenage girl's perspective, this article was very striking.
Just in case you don't know what sexting is, sexting is when a teenager sends intimate or sexually explicit photos of themselves, to others using texting or e-mail.

Miss Arowolo says in this article the effects of sexting and how God see this through his eyes. In truth sexting should not only be stopped for Christian teenagers but to every teenager because its wrong and gross. She inputs a very true and effective scripture into her article. Corinthians 6: 19-20 "Oh do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body."This scripture to anyone who reads it states a point and that point is not to do things with your body that God wouldn't approve of and I really believe this is true. This is because so many things people do now a day are so unjustified and wrong such as pornographers, atheist, believing in other gods, idolizing people, and etc. I wish people would just BELIEVE and stop having to see it for it to be real. School especially, is this not whack or what, we learn evolution and the big bang theory but we cant express our religious beliefs. OK going back to sexting, why would teens want to send nude pictures of themselves to anyone in the first place? Beats me.. I really would not like to. I hope for everyone who comes across this who has be tempted about sexting that you would rethink your thoughts and see whats right in the eyes of God.In conclusion, this article really showed the ways sexting effects and how God sees it, I was glad I found it. Happy to share it. God Bless.

The Answer for Textbook Publishers"

"The Answer for Textbook Publishers" by David Warlick, 2¢ Worth was a fasinating article. After reading this article it really made me think about my generation and how we have our lives based around the technology we use each day. This blog shows how students are involved in technology and what the textbooks publishers need to do if they want their buyer the students to have things to do with their informational books, they should expand to where it isn’t just in a book but it's on the computer, in a phone, on an iPod, etc.

I have some agreements and some disagreements with this blog. Mr. Warlick states that teacher and parents need to give involve with the students lives and he has good points to back that up but about why the textbook publishers should switch is not such a good idea in my perspective.

How do we know if this switch isn't just going to make students more uninvolved and unsocial. This switch could make the students/next generation more unlikely to succeed. I think this might be true because what about when you go into a business meeting or some type of social gathering, will the students be so accustomed to staying with in their technology that they will be in shock or afraid to stand out or give a speech. There could be effects on this situation and I think they should be stated. In conclusion, this is a very well put together blog and I also enjoyed reading this and I am glad I had chose it.

"Blog Worthy Topics"

"Blog Worthy Topics" by David Warlick was an interesting post. I was kinda happy that this post was in the "Education" folder we created during class because I was kinda confused on what I wanted to to blog about. This blog really straighten up things on what I was going to post about. My point of view on this blog is very simple, I agree with all of it. I think that it is true if teachers want to be teachers then they should do the blogs with their students. Twitter I don't know much about this website but I have heard many great things about it. I am mostly guessing that this is a blogging website. I really think it is important that people show their thoughts. I think this is important because if we didn't show what we meant we all would just be a bunch of boring blobs. I also enjoyed blogging but only when it is about what I want to blog. All and all this was a nice blog and I enjoyed reading this reading.

Hawaii tries Green Tools

"Hawaii Tries Green Tools" this story by Felicity Barringer was very interesting. I thought that it was cool that Hawaii was using power plants from a volcano to extract and create electricity. I never would of thought that the State Hawaii would be so electrical. This story is very neat because it will help out global warming issues and I feel this is going to help the Eco system. I was also surprised that so many people were involved with this because I have never heard of this is and have never seen it on the news so I wondered how it had became such a big project. For many reasons I support this story and think it is very informational.

Where Obama is Getting Education "Wrong".

"Obama Getting Education "Wrong"by David Warlick states in his opinion how Obama speech to teens was misunderstood and should have been stated differently. This post really gave me an eye opener to how so many things high school and college students need to be focusing on instead of the things that school are teaching. Students need to be focus on new ways to help them in the long run and for new jobs, see things in a way never seen before, and exchange new thoughts and conversation on how school should go. David is right Obama is just telling kids to do your work longer, focused more, and harder, but the real thing students need to do is create new ideas and ways of learning so that the economy doesn't just repeat itself it become a new economy as if the world was just created. People need to expand out of their comfort zones and start thinking about what will happen 20,30,40 years from now, create new things and processes, reach new heights, and start new companies an products. I am strongly agreeing with David because Obama needs to spread new ideas not just the old BS.

Thoughts on Wesch's video and the "New Literacy".

My thoughts about Wesch's video are very mixed. I suppose that his video is very interesting but indeed a little confusing. I was mostly confused about this video because I had no idea what this stuff was such as Hypertext, and digital text. After doing some research I discovered that Hypertext is text , displayed on the computer, with references (hyperlinks) to other text that the reader can immediately access, usually by a mouse click or key number combination. This really cleared up alot and I was able to understand alot more about what I was reading. I thought it was very surprising that all this stuff we humans have created is in effect and most likely will always be acessable I never really gave much attention to this until after seeing this video. The New Literacy also show me alot about people and how technology can really change an era from one to another. Texting and Socializing using the internet and networks can really help people learn new vocab and speech. In conclusion, my feelings towards these two pieces of infomation have change dramaticly since I was first introduced to them.
